army National Guard in the Mojave Desert
WELCOME!
Of my 35 years in the Army National Guard, I was at Fort Irwin from 1978 to 1984 and from 1992 to 2000. I have always been passionate about history and believe we should preserve it as much as possible. For the last 22 years I have been researching and compiling the history of the Army National Guard in the Mojave Desert, that dates back to the California Militia during the Civil War. This has resulted in this book.
Click on the middle of the book icon and it will open in PDF format. It comes up in a large view, but you can click on it and zoom out. I think you will be surprised with the amount of information the book contains.
I am still looking for pictures, military orders, award citations and other documents to extend this history. Please, send me an email if you can assist me.
Enjoy,
John Monis
